Strawberry Sorbet Recipe

I love summer foods. Fresh corn, summer salads, berries.

I got one of those brochures from Kroger with coupons in it and saw this recipe for strawberry sorbet. I just happened to have the few ingredients required, so I tried it. It only took a few minutes to make and it was absolutely delicious and the kids loved it.

I think next time I make it, I might add a little rum to mine. Maybe during naptime…

Strawberry Sorbet

Recipe from dietitian Sanna Delmonico.

  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 5 Cups of Strawberries
  • 5 tsp. Lemon Juice

Stir Sugar and water until dissolved. Set aside. Puree strawberries in a blender or food processor, then use the back of a spoon or rubber spatula to press the puree through a sieve to remove most of the seeds. Stir sugar-water into the puree and add the lemon juice. Refrigerate 4 hours. Makes 8 servings, 1/2 cup each.

Sorry for yet another phallic looking ice cream photo!
