Name That Cycle!

So as you know, I just got back from GE’s Momsperience where I saw all the latest and greatest GE Appliances has to offer. While I was there, I was on the hunt for things that might make our lives easier. One thing that stood out to me was a washer/dryer that I found to be both functional and funny. Yes, it was funny to me.

  • First, the bottom drawer of the washer has containers for your detergent. You can just fill it up twice a year, and you don’t have to deal with it each load. The machine knows how much soap to use based on the load.  I would think this would be especially handy if you were training your kids to do laundry. Hmmmm. I am suddenly fantasizing about my six-year-old doing some laundry.

  • Second, there is a cycle that will wash AND dry a small load in the same machine. What!?!? Yes, it’s true. Takes several hours, but this is the kind of thing that would come in handy when it is bed time and you realize your child needs to wear her class t-shirt the next day. And of course that shirt has been lying under a gnarly wet towel for two days, so no amount of tumbling it in the dryer with a scented Bounce sheet will de-stink it.
  • Third, and this gets into the funny part. There’s a cycle for everything on this sucker. Check it out.

(My weak mind was entertained by this.)

And I couldn’t resist proposing a few cycle names myself.
·        Bad Choices (props to my friend, Garrett for this one)
·        Cinco de Mayo
·        Bachelor/Bachelorette Party
·        Vegas
·        Fur ball

Any other ideas for cycle names?

At what age do you recommend teaching (or plan to teach) your kids to help with laundry? Because I gotta tell you, that day can’t come soon enough!
