How to Make Fun Cinnamon Tortillas With Your Kids

My friend Deb, who reads TheMommyhood.com, submitted a great idea for turning leftover tortillas into cinnamon chips.

Deb’s daughter loves to eat tortillas, but doesn’t always finish them. To avoid waste, Deb found some cookie cutters and had her daughter cut the leftover tortilla into fun shapes and turned them into yummy cinnamon chips. “Some of the “cookie cutters” were actually ones we use with Play-Doh. Since tortillas are soft and thin, just about any cutter will work on a hard surface,” she says.

How to Make Cinnamon Tortillas

  1. Cut tortillas into desired shape.
  2. Coat with butter and a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.
  3. Bake on a stone at 320° for 5-10 minutes

Great idea, Deb, thanks for sharing it with us. Waste not, want not!

P.S. Shout out to Amanda who inspired Deb’s idea.
