Easy Summer Dessert: Chocolate Mousse

My friend, Kelly, made this chocolate mousse for us several years ago. It’s delicious and easy. I recently found the recipe again and made it for the kids.

Charlie (4): “Ooooh, what is this?”

Me: “It’s chocolate mousse!”

Charlie: “It’s MOOSE?!?!

Kids are so literal.

Recipe for Light Chocolate Mousse

  • 1 (14 ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (I use fat free)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 (4 serving size) package instant chocolate flavor pudding mix
  • 1 cup whipping cream, whipped (I use regular Cool Whip®)

Directions:

Use a mixer. Combine sweetened condensed milk and water and pudding mix – beat well. Chill the mixture for 5 minutes and then fold in whipped cream. Spoon into serving dishes.

Note: I used this margarita glass for the picture, but that is a ENORMOUS portion for something that is so rich. Go for something smaller. Garnish as desired. I layered some with cool whip, but I think you could just put a little raspberry or strawberry on top and it would be quite beautiful.
