Go Ahead, Eat Their Easter Candy!

“Seize the moment. Think of all those women on the ‘Titanic’ who waved off the dessert cart.” ~ Erma Bombeck

The more I learn about Erma Bombeck, the more I realize she is my kinda gal. And I am not just saying that because as soon as I was alone in the house today, I ate chocolate. For breakfast. Well, why lie, when you can be honest and Erma Bombeck is backing you up.

So, I mentioned I am getting to know her. One way I am doing that is by getting one of her books. There are several that look appealing,  but I thought I would start with this one, which is a compilation of her columns.

And I thought it might be fun to give one to a reader.

(I’m not even sure how much interest there will be in this. I’m curious if you’re curious about her, too).

By the way, this isn’t some sponsored thing; this is just me buying a book for a reader who is also interested in Erma Bombeck. So if that’s you, leave a comment below or on Facebook and I will draw a name out of a hat on Friday.

Have a great day, Friends!

Heather

I’ve always loved Erma…would love to read this book!

You know why I thought it would be a good one, Kelley, because it’s columns so it’s just little snippets. I never have large chunks of time to read, but I can squeeze in a little time every now and again. Plus, I think there will be variety and I can read around in it.

Hi! I’ve just recently started reading your blog. Also, I’ve been thinking about Erma Bombeck since you posted about her on Friday. My mom used to read and enjoy her books when I was growing up. Now that I’m a new mom, I think that I need to start reading her stuff as well. So even if I don’t get one from you, she’s going on my list at the library. Thanks!

Well, welcome to motherhood and welcome to TheMommyhood! Glad you stopped by, and thanks so much for your comment. Erma’s quotes are really funny and relatable. And it seems like she is going to be the kind of gal who thumbs her nose at perfectionism. I hope so. I’m down with just regular ole people (especially if they are moms and funny).

      Have a great day!
