Tips for Getting Ready for Christmas (Here’s What I am Doing)

Are you a last-minute person? I tend to be when it comes to Christmas.

I have a long history of wrapping or building things into the wee hours the night before. So last year, I decided to give myself a false deadline.

Last year, it helped. But I didn’t really stick to it. This year, I pledge (to myself) to try harder to stick it. Tuesday, the 18th is one week before Christmas. I am going to try to have all the shopping and most of the wrapping done by then.

Why set a deadline? Because I need one. I need an impetus to make me do things. And because I want to relax and not be frazzled the week before Christmas. I think I would enjoy it more if I was organized.

And I think I will save money. It will keep me from being a desperate buyer.

Now, if I can only make it happen. (Wish me luck!)

What about you, are you organized when it comes to the holidays?

Totally not organized. 6th night of Hanukkah and I ran out of gifts. Don’t even mention Santa’s gifts……

See, Hanukkah would totally trip me up. I would think I could do it as I go, and then I would run out of gifts, too. I used to be more organized. My kids make my brain mushy, I think. That and the fact that I probably don’t eat enough brain food. Wait. What are some brain foods? Broccoli, maybe. Hmmm, troubling.
