I’m lazy. I don’t like to cook very much. It’s just not something I am passionate about, so I am always on the hunt for ways to produce quick and easy meals.
One thing I do that is easy and pays a dinner dividend is to get sauce. Good sauce. Do you have a favorite Italian restaurant? Well, ask if you can buy their sauce. Freeze it, and one gorgeous spring evening you can spend more time outside. When it’s time to come inside, defrost the sauce and make a little pasta. WHAM! You have a yummy dinner that’s easy for you and the kids will love. Throw in a bag salad, some bread and you’re really gett’n fancy.
My favorite place to get sauce is the Pizza Palace in Knoxville (not far from the Knoxville Zoo). If you are ever passing through Knoxville, do yourself a favor and check it out. It’s actually an old drive in and the food is really inexpensive and crazy good. The pizza crust is hand tossed and the cheese is grated fresh daily. These folks do it right. We stopped there Friday after we went to the zoo and got a pizza and 4 pints of sauce (4 dinner dividends). Can’t wait to use them. Anyway, since we had been at the zoo, I had my camera with me and snapped a few pictures.
Ok, so this sign says at the bottom – as seen on Food Network. So, I looked it up. Clearly, this Food Network guy and I agree this place rocks.
I have been wondering if anyone could offer their opinion on this place. I saw the episode on Food Network and have been wanting to try it…. is it true that you have to eat in your car?
No, you can eat inside if you want to. There is counter seating but there’s only room for a handful of people. The onion rings are super good and we love the speghetti. I totally recommend it.
