Tweet Nothings Tweet Nothings: Except for the High School Reunion

Do you Tweet? I’m having a hard time getting into it.

Why? Could be a couple of reasons:

  1. I don’t think my singular thoughts are typically worth sharing.
  2. Economy of words isn’t really my thing.
  3. I still have a totally lame flip phone. It’s cheap and since my  last phone swan-dove to its death in a toilet full of my urine (ew), I haven’t considered myself responsible enough to get a Tweetable phone.

So, I don’t tweet much, but oooooh did I ever want to Saturday night. I went with my husband to his 20-year high school reunion. The reunion was for a school in a small southern town and it was held at a country-club that was definitely more country than club.

High school reunions are a great place to watch people. Even though I didn’t really know anyone there, I was highly entertained.I spent most of the night with my head cocked to the right as bubble after bubble popped over my head.

Here are some observations I might have Twittered (were I more of a Tweeter):

  • Um, these people are old as shit. Are we at the right reunion?
  • Hello (and hello and hello)!  Uh, just put your name tag on your stomach since there’s no room up there with all that cleavage.
  • Yesterday’s high school wannabes are today’s  FaceBook stalkers. It’s been 20 years, Chick, move on.
  • Holy blue toenails in stripper shoes!

The flashback photos provided additional entertainment.

  • The bigger the bangs the hotter the girl curling iron.
  • Two words. Aqua Net.
  • The person who does the slide show exacts revenge!

Good times.

Hilarious! I also went to my husband’s 20th H.S. reunion this year, in a small southern town, and had the same experience. Sounds like the exact same people crashed this party.

We also had a drunk bully that literally lurked in the corners and kept trying to fight people. Plus, the former popular cheerleader still petite and perky and being followed around by her entourage of “cool” girls.
