A friend of mine was telling me she had seven teachers to buy for. Yikes! We were discussing different options and I suggested a fleece throw. She was thinking that would cost too much, but I found some at Wal-Mart for $3 each! Add a $5 or $6 monogram and voila! – a nice teacher gift for under $10.
I have three teachers for which to buy (two mother’s day out, one 1st grade). I was planning to make fresh green wreaths for them last week, but last week was extra busy, so I decided I just didn’t have the time. So I decided instead to get gift cards. I talked to a few of you on facebook who said gift cards is what you do, too. So here’s a question – how much, ladies? Do you put a sweets or an ornament with it, or just put all the money into the gift card and write a nice note?
As room parent for Clay’s Kindergarten class, I am taking tips from some other Moms who have been around the block a few times.
For those parents that wish to participate, they are sending me gift cards for each teacher (he has 2 in his class). They can sign the gift cards or attach a note if they wish. I purchased 2 small artificial Christmas trees. I plan to attach all of the personalized gift cards to the tree and then decorate the trees with mini ornaments. The turn out has been fantastic! Gift Card Trees are a hit!
Brilliant idea! Send me a picture if you think of it, or post it to TheMommyhood page. Merry Merry!
I did $5 Starbucks gift cards for my son’s two Mother’s Day Out teachers. I am delivering them in Starbucks cups (so no money spent on the cute gift card envelope thingies) with a holiday “flavored” hand sanitizer and Hershey’s Kisses. I topped the cup with white tissue paper. It’s actually a pretty cute presentation.
Love the idea of the fleece throws, though. I’ll have to keep that in my hip pocket for next year.
You know, Starbucks is a great way to do a gift card in a lower amount. Like the way you packaged it, too. Sounds like a really nice gift. Good idea, Jenny. Thanks for sharing!
