How to Make Toilet Cleaning Easier

I can’t believe I am about to write to you about toilet seats, but I am. Why? Because I am stoked about this!

I was complaining to my mother-in-law about how my three-year-old misses the bowl. It seems Mister Wizard gets up in the night to pee and sleepily shoots his stream up in-between the bolts that attach the seat to the toilet instead of into the bowl.

Get ready for some loveliness….

So that pee runs back behind the toilet and onto the floor under it where it sits until I come along and clean it up gagging and mouthing off about it in my head.

We have been talking to him about his aim, but when he’s doing this half –asleep it’s sort of futile. So, I pretty much clean the upstairs toilet every day.

Okay, enough of my whining about it to you and back to me whining about it to my mother-in-law.   We were at her house for my whining session, so she said showed me something she has in her bathroom. A magic toilet seat! La, la, la laaaaaah (that’s my magic sound).

Okay, check it. This sucker is completely removable for easy cleaning! Who knew?!?!

You see these knobs on the top? You just pop them to the side to unlock them and then the whole thing comes off for easy cleaning.

You can get them at the hardware store and they start at around $14. I got mine at The Home Depot for $20. And oh, it was money well spent, Friends. Even if you don’t have a wizzer, I’m for anything that makes toilet cleaning easier. And if you have a cleaning service and don’t care about this, well then $@#$@#$ you! This is for the common folk. (Sorry, sorry, I get a little jealous of people who don’t have to clean their own toilets).

Did you guys know about these? I think I hear a stampede making for the hardware store!

Okay…that is fantastic! Even though I don’t have the same problem (yet) those areas under the seat bother me so much and I fight to clean them…even from just the dust and stuff that collects.

We could use some new seats, so I’ll be checking for these.
    Thanks Heather!!

At this point, in addition to toilet paper, every bathroom is stocked with Clorox wipes. I look forward to the day when he can hit the bowl and I don’t have to do the daily toilet duty. And it’s not just up there, it runs down the back onto the floor behind it. Ew.
