Father’s Day Gift Idea #3 + Free Printable

Another affordable and memorable Father’s Day gift idea is to interview your child about their father and record their comments on paper. If your child is in school or preschool, at some point they may have come home with a list of questions and answers about mom or dad. And if they have – you know the answers are more often than not entertaining. When my kids are asked about me there are usually references to wine and candy which pretty much makes me cringe.

You could do that on your own and put the questions and answers in a card or a picture frame. If your child can read and write – an interview on paper is also a great way to add some writing practice to the summer vacation. Plus, if they are young, their cute hand-writing adds a little something extra to the present.

Not sure what questions to ask? No problem! Here’s a free printable that is similar to one my daughter brought home for Mother’s Day. It is called All About My Dadand you can download and use as interview questions for your child.

Dad will love it! And if your kids are older, this concept is still a winner. Getting your kids to write Dad a note in their own words would be a welcome gift from a child at any age. (Okay, maybe not from teenagers who think they know everything and Mom and Dad are stupid). But even a grown child could do this. In fact, I may do it for my dad this year.

Have your kids said anything funny about you in an interview?   If you guys do interviews, you’ll have to let me know if you get any funnies from your kids. You can always submit them as Funny Kid Quotes for my home page.
