GE Momsperience

This week, I attended GE’s first-ever Momsperience in Lousiville, Ky. GE brought in a handful of bloggers for a learning and sharing opportunity as the company develops a strategy for how to get more involved in social media and the blogosphere.  GE also presented us with the opportunity to bring a reader.

We stayed at the artful C21 Museum Hotel in Louisville, toured the GE Monogram Experience Center, and attended an event at Churchill Downs. And, as you would expect, I was on the hunt for tips and solutions that might make our life a little easier. Not only did I learn a lot, but I met some really nice people who work at GE and some fabulous bloggers.

At the GE Monogram Experience Cener, we got to view and even demo some of the GE appliances, including a cooking adventure with chefs Joe Castro and Brian Logsdon. More on that in another post. (And let me just tell you it involves BACON!)

This is me with my reader who won the GE trip giveaway. She is actually my childhood BFF and I am over the moon that I drew her name. We were reunited after a 20-year separation.

The first night we attended an “Air Your Dirty Laundry” martini party where you write down anonymous laundry confessions. Then we made hats for an event the next night at Churchill Downs. I have to admit, I thought the hat-making might be cheesy, but it wasn’t at all. It was fun, and the hats were awesome.

Here’s mine.

During our evening event at Churchill Downs, we met some more great people who work at GE, and a representative from the museum spoke to us about the history of the Derby.

Part of Churchill Downs is a museum. Here are some famous hats…

One really memorable part of the museum for me is the area where you can read the screen prompts and call the race. I did this with CreativeKristi and we used our best (they were really bad) Brittish accents. And the more exciting the race got, the louder we got. Yeah, we bonded.

Alright, this post is getting long, so I will tell you more later. Many thanks to Megan and Nancy and all the folks at GE who hosted us. The first-ever GE Momsperience was great, and I am glad I was part of it.

I totally blame the mint julep for the really bad British accent….or I would blame it if I could have gotten more than one sip down-bleeeech! Too much alcohol & not enough simple syrup LOL.
It was so fun to meet you and hang out and I do hope we get to see each other again!!
