Great Conversations With Kids: The Snackeez

infomercial Charlie (7): “Mom, I would like a snacky.”

Me: “Sure. How about some celery and peanut butter?”

Charlie: “No, I want a snackeez. Do you know what “a snackeez” is? It’s this thing with a lid and you can carry a drink AND a snack in it at the same time!!!”

Me: Realizing he’s been taken in by an infomercial, said, “Come here…”

I drew him into my lap and give him a big chest-to-chest hug, enjoying how sweet it is that he can be so completely hooked by the earth shattering message of an TV infomercial. Kids this age are SO literal.

With his neck resting on my shoulder compressing his voice a little, he said: “If we call now, they are buy one get one free…”

I had to look it up. Here it is, if you are curious about The Snackeez!

After seeing the commercial my 3 1/2 year old son keeps asking to drive to California to get one. No idea where California came from but apparently that’s where we’ve got to go, even though that would be a long trip from Ohio!!

Ha! That’s funny! You should go get one at Target and tell him you went to California and got him/her one! Toy makers, listen up: Our kids respond to infomercials!!!!
