Keeping Track of Keepsakes

When my daughter started kindergarten, she started coming home with schoolwork. Everything was cute and I wasn’t sure what to keep. So, I got a 3-ring binder and started putting some of the papers in it.

It’s crazy that the school year is almost over. Could it really be May? Well, I just looked through her binder and it was pretty easy to sort through and pull out the ones I didn’t need to keep. It just took a few minutes and I feel good I have the best of kindergarten tucked away to admire in the future. I put a picture of her on the first day of school in the insert on the front of the binder and I think I will put one of her on the last day of school in there, too.

I know I am going to need more than binders to keep track of things. I think I am going to hunt for some kind of treasure box that I can use for the binders and also for future objects de art. And if I can’t find a treasure box, there is always the good old plastic tote.

How do you keep track of keepsakes?

One of my dear friends Mother put all of his art in frames and hung it in the rooms that were not in use all of the time. For instance the guest bathroom, the hallway to their rooms, not in the living room, but tucked away in places where she saw them and enjoyed them. He passed away when we were in our early 20′s but his mother still has his art work to remind her of him.
