We just drove back from the beach today. We are fortunate enough to have a movie player in our car, so the kids were entertained on the long drive home. We got to watch Annie for the millionth time and as I listened to Grace and Annie sing Let’s Go to the Movies it made me remember to check Regal Cinema’s web site for the Family Festival schedule.
Regal movie theaters offer FREE second-run movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:00 am during the summer. The program is national and you can find out the schedule near you by clicking here.
So, if you have wanted to take your little one(s) to the movies but weren’t sure how it would go — this is a good way to try it out.
This is great when its rainy (or just too hot) and you need an indoor activity. Yes, it is during the week. So working moms, consider playing hookie one day and taking your munchkins for a special treat.
Last year they offered a popcorn/drink/Skittles combo that was $5 (I think). They even have boosters for the kids with cup holders in them (or, at least they do at my theater).
Tip: I have learned to sit on the side if there is an aisle that goes all the way to the wall. That way if my little one decides to get up I can throw my legs up on the back of the chair in front of me as a barrier. (If you are the poor soul in the seat in front of me, sorry about your whiplash).
Tip: If the weather is not good and there are two kid movies and one is more desirable than the other, you better go early. The catch 22 here is that when you go early, your kids use all their attention span up before the movie starts. But, that’s okay, if you have to leave it’s no biggie because it’s FREE!!!!
