Looking for a birthday party theme for your little girl? I went to a great one this weekend that had a cheerleader theme. My friend asked her daughter’s babysitter (a high school cheerleader) to come over and teach her daughters and their pals some cheerleading moves to celebrate their birthdays. The babysitter brought a fellow cheerleader with her and the two of them were rock stars for the party goers. (We have recently entered the age of cheerleading, so this party was a huge hit with my daughter).
On the invitation, my clever friend asked the invitees to wear their favorite sports team colors or cheerleading outfits. She found some cheerleader-themed tattoos, which the cheerleaders put on the little girls. They really enjoyed that attention. Then we took pictures of each girl with the cheerleaders. (I wish I could tell you the name of the cheerleader formation we used for the pictures, but, alas, I was quite nerdish in school, so I wouldn’t know). Okay, back to my friend…she also got pom poms for the kids to cheer with during the party, and then the guests got to take them home as party favors.
We had cake and ice cream, and the whole thing was big fun for everyone. Fall is a really good time of year to do this kind of party. It’s also a party you can throw at home, so you can avoid the cost of a party location and the limitations that come with it.
