So, we finally got around to painting the kids’ jack-n-jill style bathroom this week. And when I say “we” painted that’s most definitely a royal we.
Here’s a before picture. Note the adorable elbow of my painter.
I found inspiration for the color scheme from my scarf and my purse. Love this combination and thought it would be great in a room.
I went to Target, Ross, HomeGoods and Tuesday Morning to pick up shower curtains and rugs in that color-palette so I could see what I like best. Do you guys do this, too? I am a major returner.
Anyhoo, here are the options.
Striped shower curtain $14.87 on clearance at Target. It’s lined and it looks like a bed sheet, so I couldn’t resist picking it up.
Solid blue-green shower curtain $12.99 at HomeGoods. I like it, but it’s more of a colored liner than a fabric curtain and it kind of gave me a hospital vibe.
I’m going for light and airy. No idea why I bought this ($12.99 from HomeGoods).
Uh, not my favorite.
This is my favorite. Target $29.99. My husband pointed out that it is in NO way masculine and this is my son’s bathroom, too.
(To that I say, my son is three and he could care less. By the time he cares, I will be ready for something new). And I paired this shower curtain with a striped rug from Tuesday Morning ($14.99).
$35 – paint
$30 – shower curtain
$15 for rug
Bathroom Re-do total so far: $80. Next up…art work, accesssories and the window! It’s amazing what a can of paint can do!
Anyone using anything fun and interesting for bathroom accessories? I always like using things for a purpose other than they were intended.
Love it H! Great job!
It looks terrific! Good work, people. What’s next. Love ya, G
Thank you.
Thanks, A.
I’m a big fan of the color combo! And the shower curtain rings are super cute.
Little hot and cold sink knobs. Had them for years. I think you can get them at Bed Bath and Beyond.
