Disney World Tips: Did you know there are Disney World Apps?

Disney wait times are on the brain as I plan our trip to Walt Disney World because I know we are going to have to manage our kids through those lines. So, how can one find out the wait times at Walt Disney World? Technology, baby! This is when I thank my lucky stars I bit the bullet and got a smart phone.

Disney World App

Real-time information on Disney World attraction wait times is available through a free app you can get on your phone. Um, how great is THAT?!

How to find the Disney World App

Go to your app store and search the words Disney World. The app is called Undercover Tourist and it is by Phunware.

Check it out. After you download it and open it, you are shown the different parks. Note that next to each park title are the park hours for that day. You can also purchase tickets right from your phone.

Select a park and you can scroll through the different sections of that park like Fantasyland. And in addition, the app provides parade times.

Universal Studios App

Going to Universal Studios? No worries, there’s a FREE app for that, too!

How to find the Universal Studios App

Go to your app store and search the words Universal Studios. This app also is called Undercover Tourist and it is by Phunware.

Harry Potter at Universal

We are going to Universal Studios (Islands of Adventure) mostly to see the Harry Potter attractions, so those wait times are of particular interest to me. Tip: study your wait times in advance. Concerned there would be huge wait times for the Harry Potter attraction, I have been monitoring the wait times periodically (when I think of it and can remember to do it before I see something shiny!).

It’s not as bad as I expected. I am curious to see how accurate these apps are and will report back to you after our trip.

Other Disney Tips

If you are looking for general Disney tips, check out a post I wrote after our first trip to Disney with two young children called – Planning Your First Disney Trip.

Can. Not. Wait! In fact, I can totally hear Zippidy Doo Da in my head right now…

Have you used these apps? I would love to know if they helped you. And, of course, if you have any other Disney tips to share with TheMommyhood.com, please do!
