I love, I mean LOVE Publix sandwiches. And, I also am watching what I eat, so that means I am a little on the grouchy hungry side.

Today, after working really hard on book stuff, I decided it was sandwich time.

While I was walking into Publix, I got a call from a dear friend I really wanted to talk to, but, cell-phone-spaz that I am, I HUNG UP on her instead of answering the phone. So I thought, Oh, I’ll just call her back after I get my sandwich.

And that’s what I did. I talked to her until I was almost home when I realized I totally forgot pay for my sandwich!

D’Oh!

I told my friend what I did, and we had a giggle about it as I drove back to the store. I got in line to pay and who was there in front of me?!?! My awesome blogger friend Heather Baird from Sprinkle Bakes. I got to meet her husband and she asked me about my book and said she wanted to help me. How great is that?!?! If I hadn’t accidentally stolen the sandwich–I never would have gone back to the store and run into her! Not that she wouldn’t have helped me anyway, but I had been meaning to get in touch with her but couldn’t seem to get to it. And then she was put right in my path. Which is cool.

The cashier (Lucinda) was funny when I told her what happened with the sandwich. She said she was a former teacher and had to give me something for coming back. So she gave me this green Publix Loves Kids sticker, which made me laugh. Nice lady. Thanks, Lucinda!
