An Unintended Benefit

Holy cow do I make my share of bad decisions as a mom, but every now and again I do something right.

I wrote a post around Valentine’s Day (The Card Is In the Mail – P.S. I Love You) about getting my kids little mailboxes and writing them notes so they get some “mail.”

By doing this I intended to have another way to communicate with my kids, and I intended to use it as a learning tool for my daughter who is learning to read and write. What I didn’t intend, but am happy about is that my daughter is paying it forward.

The other day she wrote her brother a note (on foot pad paper) and put it in his mailbox. It totally made my day.

What kinds of things have you done with your kids that have had an unintended benefit?

This might be the most precious thing I’ve seen in a long while. You must save this! Sweet.
