Celebrating Independence

I am fortunate to live in the USA and am grateful for our independence.

But when I think of independence and motherhood, I think of motherhood as a series of mini-graduations in a different way. As my kids depart babyhood, which sometimes makes me sad, the upside is they are gaining independence that makes my life as a mom easier. Not because I am lazy (although I do have my moments) but because the more independent they get the more options we have for activities as a family.

So, today, I celebrate independence as both an American an a Mom.

Happy 4th of July Everyone!
