This week Sisters of the Skillet held the second annual East Tennessee’s Biggest Bake Sale and it was AWESOME!
There were lots of bakeries and other makers-of-yum present, and they all had samples! My daughter Molly and I loved looking at all the artful desserts. And Charlie-the-candy-bandit (5) was in hog heaven because we got to try different sweets AND he got to meet the author of his favorite book, Heather Baird.
As part of the sale, there was a Halloween cake contest and I snapped pictures of a few that stood out to me.

About Sisters of the Skillet
Two amazing cooks – Mary Constantine, Food Writer for the Knoxville News Sentinel and Jennifer, the Midday Host for Knoxville’s B97.5 have joined forces to share their love of all things food and cooking as the Sisters of the Skillet.
One of the things the Sisters of the Skillet provides is a newsletter with recipes and other cooking-related information. They also give away culinary items as well as the cookbooks Mary gets from publishers to review. The Sisters do a lot to support their local Ronald McDonald House and raised about $3000 (Woot!) for them at East Tennessee’s Largest Bake Sale!
About Ronald McDonald House
According to their web site:
“The Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. There are over
200 Ronald McDonald House locations around the world that help approximately 5,000 people a day.”
What a creative and fun way to raise money for a great cause! I would love to attend next year!
I have such amazing daughters! So proud of all of you.
